Stubborn Fat and Spot Reduction
Those frustrating parts that don’t seem to budge. For Women this is generally thighs, hips and butt. For Men it’s generally the lower abs and love handles.
Fat stores itself in these areas first, then works its way outwards to your outer limbs like arms, neck, and face. The reverse happens during fat loss, where fat loss will be noticeable from your face, neck, and arms before your stubborn area. Don’t be surprised if people start commenting on your face or neck.
There is no such thing as spot reduction – unless you get liposuction. You can’t choose to specifically lose a certain area of fat, before losing the fat in your outer limbs. It’s a law of our biological make-up.
Think of your body as a cup of water, and the water being fat. Water fills the bottom of a cup first before reaching the top. Similarly, fat fills your stubborn areas first before your outer limbs.
The reverse happens when you drink the water – you drink the water at the top of the cup before the bottom. Likewise, fat is lost from your outer limbs before your stubborn areas.
Conclusion
Stubborn fat takes longer to burn off, hence the name “stubborn”. Patience is the key to cracking through it and bidding the stubborn fat goodbye. If you and/or others are noticing fat loss in your face, then you’re on track. Stay the course.
